Arena PvP Contest Event

This is an Supergroup event and contest for those who could not make it to HeroCon '09. You will get a chance to win one of two costume codes: Knives of Artemis Lt. or Carnival of Shadows Ring Mistress!
All SG members are welcome to attend, but only those who did not attend HeroCon this year are eligible to compete.
Date: Saturday, November 7, 2009
Time: 2:00pm - 5:00pm (approximate)
Location: Pocket D Arena
Rules:
1. You must create a new character with the BLASTER archetype but can choose any powersets.
2. You cannot be higher than level 1 to compete.
3. No veteran powers, temporary powers, or inspirations will be allowed.
4. Last man/ woman standing wins!

Double XP Weekend!!

Double XP Weekend and Account Reactivation!
We're celebrating the recent launch of Issue 16: Power Spectrum in style by offering all our players a Double XP weekend! But that's not all, all inactive accounts in good standing will also be given access to City of Heroes and City of Villains® during the Double XP weekend!
Here are the dates and times:
* Starts: Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 8:59 a.m. Pacific Time (11:59 a.m. Eastern Time)
* Ends: Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time (2:59 a.m. Eastern Time)
All participating Hero and Villain characters will receive double the XP, Influence, and Infamy for their accomplishments in game. Just log in to start playing and take advantage of this opportunity to level up your favorite Heroes and Villains twice as quickly as normal!
If you or any of your friends haven't played in a while, visit City of Heroes for all the latest game news and to learn more about Issue 16: Power Spectrum. Download the PC game client or the Mac game client, or visit our official message forums for a wealth of information.
Please note: if your account expires after the reactivation weekend has started, it will not get automatically reactivated. To participate in the Double XP Weekend, you will need to reactivate your account via the usual method. Please check our Knowledge Base for more information on how to reactivate your game account.

For some reason, when I post an event on our calendar it is not showing up. So, here is the Task Force we will be running, suggested by Thermite, for this weekend, Saturday, January 3rd, 2009, at 2 PM CST:

Location: Founders' Falls
Main Enemy: Devouring Earth
Archvillain: Jurassik (Giant Monster)
Level to Attend: 35-40
Minimum Teammates: 4 (total)
Missions: 23 (total)
Approximate Duration: 2.5 to 3+ hrs
Merits: 27
Badge Awarded: Numina's Compatriot
A tank with Taunt minimum was suggested for the fight with Jurassik.

Winter Event Starting "Soon!"
It's Holiday Time again in Paragon City and the Rogue Isles. This year join the festivities and be rewarded as well as get the chance to reward others.

o By simply logging in between December 15th, 2008 and January 4th, 2009, players receive the following:
o The Holiday Spirit Temporary Power. This temp power grants 48 hours of 25% Debt Protection.

o The Frostbitten Badge
o
o The Holiday Cheer Temporary Power. Use this power on another player to give them a random, Mystery Gift - possibly a Temporary Power, a sack full of Influence or Infamy, or possibly a winter themed hat.
